mstarg95 asked: I looove this blog! I have really bad OCD and almost eveything you post on here I can relate to. I hate having this disorder and sometimes it makes me feel alone but this blog really makes me feel like I'm not. For people complaining I don't think they understand the point of this blog. You call this blog OCD moments because you are posting the moments when someone is compulsing about something. Don't listen to them. Thank you so much for this blog!
Aww, thank you :’)
You have no idea how much I appreciate messages like these. I’m so glad this blog has helped a few people feel less alone. It’s so reliving when you realize that some of the “weird things” you do are completely human.
I’m glad you love & actually understand my blog :)
Unless you really blow my socks away.
I’ve already heard:
- “this blog is offensive”
- “none of these have anything to do with OCD”
- “change the name of this blog”
I do not plan on changing the name of this blog. A lot more people appreciate it than find it offensive because those people know that this blog is in no way making fun of OCD. Please lighten up or simply don’t visit this blog. It’s as simple as that :)
& to all my followers, thanks so much! I’m glad I could provide you all with some entertainment & a place to relate. I appreciate you guys so much!
squishtestedbiffleapproved-deac asked: Why are people offended? Saying, "I'm having an OCD moment" does not mean you think you have OCD. It is a turn of phrase that many people in the entire world use. Maybe it would be more correct to say "I'm having and obsessive-compulsive moment" but freaking out over a title. I don't get it. Personally, I'd like to assume people are smart enough to know, just because they have a thing about keeping the volume at an even number, they don't have the disorder.
Thank youuuu! Exactly, exactly, exactly.
obsessivecompulsivelife asked: I know you get this a lot and I am .. as per usual offended by the title of your blog.. These things are NOT OCD moments, Blogs like this just encourage others to assume things about OCD that are not true, I urge you to actually look up what OCD is and how it can affect someones life.. Wouldn't it be easier and more appropriate to name the blog "quirkymoments" or "thoselittlequirks" because that is what they are, Not OCD.. you can't just have an OCD moment.. You either live with it or you don't
I know what OCD is. I’ve taken psychology & I’ve certainly looked it up many times just because these kinds of things interest me.
If you’re so personally offended by this blog then don’t go on it - simple as that! There are going to be a lot of things in this world that “offend” you. I’m sorry that one of those things is a silly little blog.
Anonymous asked: Would love to hear what some of your critics think of other minority "moment" or "you know you're ____ when" blogs since some of them deal with sexuality, gender, race, nationality and so on. It comes down to people simply having a sense of humour or not. You can either laugh in the face of tragedy or not. If you can, good. If you can't, then try to avoid places like this.
Exactlyy. People take things too seriously these days. Lighten up & get over it!
Anonymous asked: About the last post, you say that we are "bitching about it" were not, were fighting against ocd and mental illnesses being taken sereously, you may take it sereously but other people don't, and you are encouriging them.
I didn’t necessarily say you all were bitching I said, “people can do whatever they want & there’s always going to be people who like it as well as people who bitch about it; that’s just life.”
That being said… I’m sorry that you seemed so bothered by a little blog but as I said before, I’m not changing the name.
